It's a cliche, but time really does fly. Especially when you're attending to every need of two baby girls. They are, thankfully, very well-behaved little munchkins (for now). We're still in the phase when there's not much that can't be fixed by a cuddle with mama or a bottle from papa. They're definitely more alert and starting to get interested in staring at us while we feed them or at the ceiling fan (apparently of equal fascination).
Speaking of feeding, we had their 2-month doctor's appointment on Thursday and they both earned high praise from Dr. Holbrook for their weights. Noemi is now 9 lbs. and Zora is 7 lbs. 13 oz. The doc even mentioned that it wouldn't hurt Noemi to slow down a bit with her weight gain! We've been worried about Zora's eating ever since she was born, and more now that her reflux has worsened to the point that she's on an antacid, so it's nice to get more and more reassurance that she's on track. Come to find out it just seems like she's not eating much compared to her voracious sister. I say Noemi would eat her own arm if you stuck a nipple on it.
Dr. Holbrook gave us the green light to go to "breastfeeding only" for half of Noemi's feedings and one of Zora's feedings in a day (instead of breastfeeding and then topping off with a bottle). And we've been trying simultaneous/tandem breastfeeding more and more. You'd think it would save a lot of time, but at this point we're still so new at it that it's like a circus of babies and boobs and milk and burp cloths and bottles everywhere. But we'll get better!
